Susan Froedge
Director of Youth & Children Ministries
Ms. Susan Froedge is in her 26th year as an educator and currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Pathfinder School of Innovation. Prior to her appointment, she was an assistant principal at Butler Traditional High School and held positions as a high school math teacher and middle school band director. Ms. Froedge attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a M.A. in Music Performance-Instrumental Conducting and a B.A. in Music Education with a Mathematics minor. While at the University of Kentucky, she was a Graduate Assistant with the University Bands and taught undergraduate conducting, concert band and the athletic bands. Ms. Froedge also earned a Rank 1 in Education Administration and a Mathematics 6-12 certification through Western Kentucky University.
As a music educator, Ms. Froedge’s bands received numerous distinguished awards at KMEA sanctioned festivals and performed twice at the Kentucky Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. During her tenure as a band director, she was a 2009 recipient of the WHAS ExCel Award and Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Band Director in Kentucky. Ms. Froedge is active in flute performance as well and has performed with several community groups. She was a co-founder of the Heartland Winds Community Band and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ms. Froedge currently performs with the Louisville Winds, Louisville Concert Band and Sacred Winds. In addition to community bands, she has performed with various community musical theatre productions as both a conductor and musician in the pit orchestra.
