Rev. Marc Monroe

Minister of Worship and Music

Marc Monroe is in his 21st year in education and 12th year at Butler Traditional High School. He is now a school counselor and the Associate Minister of Worship at Hurstbourne Christian Church. Before this appointment, he was the Director of Bands and Performing Arts Chair and served as the JCPS Band Teacher Leader. Mr. Monroe holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, a Master of Music in Music Education from Campbellsville University, a Master of Arts in Education from Bellarmine University, a Master of School Counseling from Spalding University, a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from Western Kentucky University, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership degree from Spalding University. He was named High School Music Teacher of the year for the 4th District in 2013, the Citation of Service Award from District 12 in 2020, High School Music Teacher of the year for the 12th District in 2022, was named a Quarterfinalist Grammy Music Educator for 2021, and serves as an adjudicator and clinician for KMEA Concert Band Assessments, Marching Band Contests, Regional Talent Shows and Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Programs. He has directed and conducted numerous productions for Nelson County High School, Butler Traditional High School, and Bardstown Community Theatre. He also performed in the Hardin County Performing Arts Center, Faithworks Studios, and The Stephen Foster Story productions. He serves on the Boards of directors of numerous nonprofit arts organizations and has co-chaired the Nelson County Distinguished Young Women Program in Bardstown, KY. He is a Phi Beta Mu Psi Chapter President-Elect and chairs the Hall of Fame and Concert Band Festival Committees. He has served as “the voice of KMEA” for the State Marching Band Championships since 2022.
