Coty Taylor
Pianist
Coty Taylor was born in the vibrant city of Frankfort, Kentucky. He earned his Bachelor's in Music Education at the University of Kentucky, followed by his Master's in Music Education at the renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he also served as an Associate Instructor. His master's thesis, titled "Playing Music: A Curricular Outline for Learning Music Through Play," was both defended and published in the Summer of 2021, demonstrating his commitment to music education and pedagogy. Coty maintains a busy, diverse gigging schedule throughout central Kentucky, showcasing his talents as a jazz pianist and French hornist. In 2021, Coty decided to relocate to Louisville after being hired to teach music for Jefferson County Public Schools. Coty obtained a second Master’s degree in School Counseling from Spalding University in 2024. He now serves as a School Counselor for Multilingual Learners at Fairdale High School, a role he has proudly held since 2024.
